Not every bottle labelled pure is pure
Essential oils vary by plant, region and season. Cheap oils are often diluted or blended with synthetic scent. We ask for a certificate of analysis from the supplier, and for important oils a GC-MS test that shows the chemical profile. The label should say what is in the bottle.
Strong ingredients need clear warnings
Essential oils are concentrated. Most should not be put on skin undiluted. Some irritate, some make skin sensitive to sun (citrus oils such as bergamot), and some are not recommended in pregnancy or around young children and pets. Labels need a clear warning, an age note and instructions to dilute.
Glass and droppers
Amber glass bottles of 10 to 30 ml with orifice reducer caps or droppers. Essential oils attack some plastics, so the cap lining is tested.
