Pharmacy range

Products a pharmacist can recommend

Pharmacy chains and medical stores often add a private label cosmetic range next to over-the-counter products. Typical choices are skin repair and sun products, lip and foot care, oral care, baby care and sensitive-skin lotions.

✓Lips and feet: lip balm and foot cream.
✓Oral care: Oral Care (some are medicated; route confirmed at brief).
✓Baby care: Baby and Kids Care.
Regulation

Cosmetic or Ayurvedic medicine?

Herbal does not mean exempt. A product sold as a cosmetic, with cosmetic claims, is made under cosmetic rules. A product that claims to treat a disease, or is a classical Ayurvedic formulation described as a medicine, falls under the rules for Ayurvedic drugs and needs the appropriate licence. We make cosmetics. If your plan includes Ayurvedic medicines, tell us the brief and we say clearly what we can and cannot do.

✓Describe herbal ingredients accurately and use Latin names in the ingredient list.
✓Do not use treatment or cure language on a cosmetic.
✓Use traditional-use wording carefully and avoid promises.
✓Check the AYUSH and CDSCO sites and your advisor for your exact product.
We do not give legal advice. Confirm licences and claims with the official body or a regulatory advisor.
